West Highland Way

Mission Accomplished! 100+ miles walked from Glasgow to Ft. William and the photos will give you a glimpse of Highland Walking.

Day 1: Glasgow to Milngavie - Rain and Wind - Camped in the rain
Day 2: Milngavie to Gartness/Drymen - Sun and Clouds - Camped in the sun - ditched two out of three bags to the porter service after near team collapse
Day 3: Gartness to Rowardennan - Lots of rain - 16 miles of sheer will - met Scottish crew - slept in hostel (beds much needed) - Pete experiences exhaustion, Annie suffers severe blistering, Alyssa struggles with knee
Day 4: Rowardennan to Inverarnan - Mixed weather - Pete hikes with Scottish crew - Annie and Alyssa rest wounds and set-up camp - Singing of "Country Roads" with the Scots in Beinglas Pub
Day 5: Inverarnan to Tyndrum - Mixed weather - Midges everywhere at camp
Day 6: Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy - Mixed weather - Joint hike with Scots - Bunkhouse and Super Noodle dinner
Day 7: Orchy to Kingshouse/Glencoe - Mixed weather - Joint hike with Scots from Inverornan - Side trip to Glencoe for camping - Buzzed by fighter jets - Traditional music at the local pub - Pete has haggis for dinner
Day 8: Glencoe - Mixed weather -- Rest day - night in B&B, hallelujah!
Day 9: Glencoe/Kingshouse to Kinlochleven - Rainy and Windy - Beautiful highlands over the Devil's Staircase - Drunken Scots singing personalized renditions of such favorites as "You are so beautiful", "You are the sunshine of my life"...great night of sleep in the tent hah.
Day 10: Kinlochleven to Ft. William - Rainy - Long, final hike but rewarding - Grog & Gruel + cask ales - B&B paradise

It was a great time and we're kinda sad to see it end, but there are many more to tackle...
