Novole
We're back in a part of Italy we know pretty well from previous travels: Montanare, outside of Cortona. This time we're staying on an olive farm far up the valley, so we are quite isolated (especially when you have no car and the farmer goes away for a week to a photo exhibition).
Our routine has been get the fire started (it has been cold), feed the cats, have some tea, feed the horse, eat lunch, read, feed the dogs, stoke the fire, eat dinner, talk, read, stoke the fire, etc... Really it has been pretty relaxing, but we are beginning to experience some major cabin fever(!), so we are glad Lucio has returned. Today, we have been dropped off in Cortona and the weather is great after a week of wind and rain, so our spirits are up. Looks like we will finish the evening at a big Italian birthday bash -- should be fun...and it sounds like the whole town is coming.
We plan to spend about another week here and then on to the Adriatic for a ferry ride to Croatia.
Photos are still non-functional. Will report when they are up -- we're getting a bit of a backlog!
